A facility dedicated to research and education into issues
related to aging has been established in the newly expanded Shalom Village. Named in
memory of Ruth Sherman, a long time supporter and great friend
to Shalom Village,
the centre includes lecture space, offices and computer and internet library
links.
The Ruth Sherman Centre
provides staff and student education at Shalom Village with emphasis on applied
research that will impact on the care and caregivers of those frail seniors
living in long term care.
This innovative facility
is also utilized by students and researchers from a variety of University and
College programs, including the Family Medicine Care of the Elderly Program at
McMaster University.
